Company accounts and Corporation Tax

Company accounts, prepared clearly and correctly

Annual accounts, Corporation Tax calculations and company filings handled accurately, explained clearly and submitted on time.

Why it matters

Stay compliant without losing sight of the bigger picture.

Limited companies must prepare annual accounts for Companies House and report their taxable profit to HMRC. The figures need to be accurate, supported by reliable records and filed within the relevant deadlines.

We manage the process from reviewing your records through to preparing the accounts and Company Tax Return. Before anything is submitted, we explain the results in plain English so you understand the company’s performance, tax position and next steps.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about company accounts.

When are limited company accounts due?

A private company’s first accounts are normally due 21 months after incorporation. After that, annual accounts are normally due nine months after the end of the company’s financial year. Your exact dates depend on the company’s accounting period.

When are Corporation Tax and the Company Tax Return due?

Corporation Tax is normally payable nine months and one day after the end of the accounting period. The Company Tax Return is normally due 12 months after the end of that period. Different rules can apply in some circumstances, so we confirm the dates for your company.

What information will you need from me?

This commonly includes bank statements, bookkeeping records, sales and purchase information, payroll records, expense details, finance agreements and information about assets or money owed. We provide a clear request based on your business and accounting system.

Can you take over from my current accountant?

Yes. With your authority, we can contact your previous accountant, request the relevant records and manage the professional handover so the transition is as straightforward as possible.
